Freestyle Event will follow the racing brackets. Drivers will have time to work on vehicles while we prepare the course. We will give a 5 minute warning prior to the start of the event, but will keep things moving pretty quickly. Freestyle trucks do not need to be in the racing brackets, but must meet Sport or Pro-Mod specifications and have solid axles. If we have enough time in the event, we will run an Open Class Freestyle event.
Order for Freestyle will be selected at random from the pool of all entries, and we try to make sure the driver will have some time between their entries. Drivers are limited to two (2) vehicle entries. Trucks that are eligible for Sport and Pro-Mod classes are eligible to enter Freestyle, but all trucks are limited to 3S Lipo batteries.
Each driver will be start with 90 seconds on the clock. This time begins when the driver hits their first obstacle. Drivers are allowed one vehicle rollover, during which time the clock will be paused. If the driver has to touch their vehicle at any point, this will be counted as a rollover (reattaching battery leads, turning truck power back on, freely dangling from an object requiring driver intervention to continue, etc). The clock will resume when the vehicle has been righted and the driver hits the first obstacle.
If the driver rolls over or requires intervention a second time, the run is considered over and the driver's time is recorded. 3 pre-appointed judges will hold up numbers to score the run. The driver's score is the total of the 3 scores.
The run is considered over if:
-90 second run time has elapsed
-the driver has determined that the truck can no longer compete
-a driver has 2 rollover/intervention incidents
The driver with the highest score will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie, the driver with the longest run-time will be declared the winner. Season points will be assigned for Freestyle.
